‘LAZARUS STYLE’
With help from Unit 44 gallery I produced ‘Lazarus Style’ - An experiential show inside an old bicycle factory in Newcastle, UK. Locals had walked past the empty venue for years without giving it a second look. ‘Lazarus Style’ threw open the doors to paintings, projections and paper works.
‘Lazarus Style’ was my first solo show in the UK for several years, hence the tongue-in-cheek reference to the fictional Bible story of Lazarus who surprised everyone by rising from death. All the paintings were done in a circular style, in homage to the buildings history as a bicycle factory and as a nod to renaissance style ‘Tondo’ paintings.
