‘MYSTERIOUS AL’S SPOOKHOUSE’
SPOOKHOUSE was a world first concept: An art exhibition set inside a working fairground ghost-train.
Set in a vast warehouse space in Melbourne, Australia; visitors climbed aboard rickety carts and traveled through a twisting labyrinth of paintings, animated sculptures and special effects. I made everything inside the ride, learning robotics and electronics for my first foray into sculpture.
Upon disembarking the ride, visitors were led into a giant warehouse show featuring 70+ paintings, collages and prints.
The show attracted almost 5,000 visitors over two weekends. Riders aged from 1 to 80 with many having never been to an art exhibition before! SPOOKHOUSE enjoyed national press including features in Broadsheet, Time Out and Arts Review.
